Worst shower of my life

I just experienced the worst shower of my life! You didn't think there was such a thing did you? Well...let me prove you wrong! Let me preface this story by saying I'm spending the weekend at my parent's lake house. So stuff like this normally doesn't happen, okay? Okay..onto the story.

It all started normal until I saw this fluttering out of the corner of my eye. It might be beneficial for you guys to know that I have a phobia of bees too. So of course I freak out, thinking it's a bee. I scream and throw my hands everywhere. The point was to try getting it away from my face. It worked, but I also pulled back the shower curtain and sprayed water all over the floor in the process. Only after I regained my composure and redirected the water flow, I realized it was only a moth. In my defense...this moth was HUGE! Kind of looked like and was the size of a bumblebee so I had reason to fret!

So I turn off the water and try to find something to capture it with so it doesn't try attacking me in the shower again (that's what it was doing, I swear!) To my luck, there was an empty clear cup on the sink. So the next 3 minutes consisted of me chasing the moth around the bathroom and screaming when it got too close to my face. My mom actually knocked on the bathroom door to make sure I was okay...that was kind of embarrassing. But honestly, take a moment to mentally picture that. I'm sure it would have been hilarious to anyone else but me, which is why I'm sharing my adventures with you dear blog readers!

I finally end up catching it and putting a tissue underneath the cup to keep the moth trapped in. Then it's big bug eyes were staring at me like they wanted revenge, so I put a candle on top of the cup to weigh it down. I'm sure if I hadn't that little moth would have fought his way out. He looked strong for a small thing!

Anyway....after that embarrassing episode...I tried to continue my shower. Tried to. Everything was going fine until I accidentally knocked my dad's razor in the tub mid-condition. The blade disconnected from the handle and went flying....right into the drain. It was JUST big enough to slip through. Not wanting to push it too far down, I try to turn off the water. Well of course I didn't turn the cold water handle all the way off because it shocked me so much with icy cold water I let out another squeal and jumped up. If I wasn't awake then, I was after that! In the process I somehow got conditioner in my eye and had to restart the freezing water to flush my eyes.

Okay now after properly turning off the water I try to use the handle of the razor to get the blade. Instead I pull out a HUGE wad of hair. It was disgusting. Kind of looked like a small mouse too. I was hoping (I don't know why) that the razor was in this goop of a hair ball. But it wasn't. Don't ask why, but I started to use my hands to try and find the razor. That could have ended badly. But fortunately/unfortunately I didn't find it. Fortunately because all of my fingers were still in tact. Unfortunately because that was my dads last razor. Oops? Sorry dad!

So yeah, the moral of the story: Use common sense when showering, it's dangerous. Also, I'm an idiot.

P.S. No moths were hurt in the making of this blog.

Commenter Shout Out Time!!

Denise Nicole: I knew we'd have a green-team commenter. That's okay...I got love for all :)
Cole Garrett: TMNT was the best! :) And I'm trying not to think about the other kinds of debt I'll get into later in life. Ahhh, so scared!

Team Nickelodeon or Team Disney?

WOW! Where did all you people come from? I basically just tripled my followers in 4 days. Granted I don't have very many, but hi! Welcome to my life!

I've started to write this blog so many times this week, but I just couldn't find anything to talk about at first! It basically started out like "I have too much on my plate blah blah blah," but no one really wants to hear about that. I didn't even want to write about it. So instead I thought I'd share with you three things I've heard this week that I find particularly interesting! I hope you do too!

1. October 10 is national cake decorating day!
Now you know I'm excited! I think this is the first week since we moved into our apartment that me and my roommates haven't had cake. Yes, we are that bad. But this holiday gives us an excuse to have more cake! There's something about cake in general...might be the sugar...that just puts me in a better mood! It'll probably end up being funfetti cake, since that is my favorite. Or, our second option (and better option if you ask me) is for me to make legendary cake ice-cream cones! You just put cake in little ice-cream cones and bake. It's seriously the most delicious thing I've ever made!

2. Today, in 1962, ABC's 1st color TV series-The Jetsons- was aired. (Yes I just looked this up)
This is just a classic topic to talk about. I feel a little nostalgic nowadays. I used to love the Jetsons! Seriously though I thought that's how the 2000s were going to be. I was only a little off. What were your favorite shows as a kid? I was a Nickelodeon fan myself. I know there was always a huge war between Nick and Disney...and then Cartoon Network was kind of like the green party, they had good points but no one listens to them. My favorite of all time was probably "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" I was a strange kid... But I liked all the classics too! Like Doug, Hey Arnold, Angry Beaver's, All That, Kenan and Kel etc. So it kind of evens out I guess.

3. I won't get out of debt until I'm at least 40...yaaaay!
I'm in a class called Social Problems. We've spent the first 1/3 of our semester talking about money and how much it sucks for our generation, yes I'm talking about you too. It's basically saying how much harder it is for us to get ahead because the government is against us. While I agree with this statement, it's not something I want to dwell on. Reality checks are needed from time to time. I understand that. It's probably a good thing I'm in this class, but can you at least show me the silver lining? Or change topics? There are a lot worse social problems out there than my debt I'm wracking up in college. We're not going to talk about THAT though! While interesting...not a very cheerful subject. But I just wanted to let all you 20 something bloggers out there...if you are in the same boat, I know what you're going through!!

To sum up, I will always be in debt (as will most of the United States), I am team Nickelodeon, and if anyone ever wants to make me a cake I would be more than happy to accept that gift. :)

Commenter shout-out time! Heeeeeya!

Vic: I don't have pics yet, we'll see
Anastasia B: Hey, don't diss the power rangers. They were my favorite growing up! I always thought they'd save me when I was in a really bad situation.
Konrad: Glad I could make you laugh.
Kate Weber: I wanna hear about your costume when you think of one!!

Pillsbury Dough Boy

So things got worse after I last posted to you, and then they got better, then just blah. Not really sure if anything is settled, but we're being civil so that's a plus? Anyway, I don't want to talk about that. The situation is still going on, but I don't want to dwell on it too much. Things will work itself out. But I wanted to thank you for your kind words! Seriously, you guys are great and it made me and Mickey feel a lot better. Onto a brighter topic!!

Today I was told that I should be the Pillsbury Dough Boy for Halloween. It's not as offensive as it sounds honestly! Today I was working as a 'Cooks Help' at the food court. I usually work in the sandwich department, but regardless it's such a fun job. Today I was working behind the pizza station making bread sticks. Today was the first day for this kid named Matt. Let me tell you, he just made my Monday about 15 times better! We got along so well! You those people that you just click with and instantly become best friends? Well he is one of them. We have the same sense of humor, and I enjoyed dishing as well as taking the teasing jabs we made at one another.

Oh right...Pillsbury Dough Boy. (Sorry I think I could talk about that kid forever.) Well, I was walking by to put some bread sticks in the cooler and he throws a ball of dough in the flour and it shoots up right in my face! Covered my apron, pants, shoes, everything! So I'm standing there frozen, mouth agape and holding bread sticks over my head out of the range of fire. I'm sure I looked ridiculous. Once I could breathe again, we both died laughing! I put the bread sticks up and then Matt proceeded to show me off to the other workers, calling me his 'creation'. One of the full-timers there called me the Pillsbury Dough Boy and hence made me promise I would dress up as one for Halloween. Not that I'm actually going to, but I still think that it would be amusing, but only to those people I work with. Then she proceeded to tell us about how one Halloween she dressed up as a stripper. Too much information Deb!!! Bad, bad, bad visual pictures. So if you can think of anything cuter for me to dress up for Halloween as, please share! The answer is basically anything else.

Have you guys thought about what you're going to dress up as? And if you say "I'm too old to dress up" well think again! This is the one day out of the year it's okay dress and act weird and not be considered a freak, so I like it :) Enjoy being goofy!

I know this is a LOT shorter post than normal, but I think I'm going to leave you with that awesome short story and go enjoy some HIMYM.

It's time for commenter shout out!

Kate: Thanks! She sure appreciates it :)
Lovely Bee: You're too sweet. P.S. It's Monday! I think I was mistaken...the new season doesn't start today...but it starts soon!

The Story of a Friends X, Rude Roommates and Weekend Adventures!

"By the way...Jake is coming soon. Just to let you know." With two sentences, our breath was knocked out of us and our worlds both came to a screeching halt!

Sound dramatic enough for you? Let me tell you the back story. I was in the middle of season 2 of How I Met Your Mother with my roommie Mickey. She was having an extremely hard day/week. So was I, but being the good roommate I am, I was trying to make her day better. Honestly, I think I didn't mind so much because I knew she doesn't have awesome blog readers like you guys to make her feel better when she's having an off day :) (I'm not just being a suck-up, you guys rock. True...but besides the point. We'll get to that later.)

We've gotten a lot closer this year for lots of reasons. Because of that, she finally was able to tell me, almost over a year later, why her and her ex boyfriend broke up. Lets say the relationship she was on the verge of being abusive. Being one of her best friends...I had no idea. I broke down when I found out because it literally broke my heart that she was suffering and I had no idea. The guy in question was Jake, Kimmy's brother. For those of you catching up, Kimmy is one of our other roommates.

So for obvious reasons, Kimmy knows that the break up didn't go well, but doesn't know of Mickey's disdain for Jake. No, it goes further than disdain. Full blown hatred. I don't like the term 'hate', but being one of the few privileged people to be let in on the truth, I don't blame her. I would hate him too. I'm just disgusted with him, which is too bad because he used to be a really good friend of mine.

So you can imagine how it felt to hear 5 minutes before her ex arrived that he would be there. Kimmy knew about this ALL WEEK and she was choosing now, 5 minutes before he arrived to tell Nicole and I the news. My heart race picked up because I was so angry. I didn't say anything, but Mickey sounded cool. Then we went to her room and she completely broke down. She didn't even want to be in the same vicinity as him. So we dropped all our plans of seeing Letterman and seeing Toy Story 3. We packed our stuff for the night and I drove her to my house, which is about an hour away from here (I was planning on going home anyway after all our plans tonight). I've never seen us pack so quick. Once the decision was made we were out the door and on our way in 10 minutes. Kimmy was a little insulted, but she really doesn't understand. She was taking it personally that we were leaving, but honestly I think that was just a little selfish and naive of her. I don't hold too much of it against her. Thankfully, Jake was running late.

So our past 24 hours consisted of Rummy, How I Met Your Mother, Kings Corner, Pride and Prejudice, us enjoying a couple drinks, a full breakfast, frisbee, and going out for lunch. It really helped to just get out of that situation and have fun! Now we had to come back tonight because she had to work, but we didn't think about calling the apartment ahead of time just to make sure that he wasn't there...but he was. We didn't think that through. We were nice and courteous even though we were shocked and upset. But luckily for us she had to babysit in 40 minutes so she just left as soon as we dropped off our stuff. I think she just drove around town for a while.

That leaves us at this point in time. Jake, Kimmy and Josiah (Kimmy's Fiance) were watching a movie in the living room. They just left without saying anything to me. RUDE! Ah well...I'm not taking it personal. It's whatever. I had a great weekend regardless of really bad situations and I'm not going to let them ruin it either! On another topic...

*Deep Breath*

So I'm going to start something new! I have such a small audience, and to make it a little more interactive, I'm going to do a 'commenter shout out'. This will consist of me answering questions, commenting back in my next blog, or just thanking you for commenting! So if you have questions feel free to ask in the comments or just leave me some love.

Commenter shout out!

LovelyBee: HIMYM new season starts Monday! Be there! Oh and I'm glad I'm not the only one who's not a Letterman fan :)

Bookworm91691: OMG how weird is this...we just found out we go to the same school!?! Not only that but we are both Nerdfighters, youtubers, and like Harry Potter. Bizarre!!! Seriously...so weird! But freaking fantastic at the same time! I love the internet!

Chocolate, David Letterman and Toy Story 3!

Image

I told you I was the Chocolate Chugging Champion and I wasn't lying!!! Okay, so this picture looks more daunting than it actually is. 3 of us split 2 cans. Unfortunately this is the only picture I have...I really wanted to show you my victory stance, but alas, we shall have to save that for another day!

I haven't blogged all week, so I feel like it's time for a play by play to summarize my days.
Monday: I blogged, go read it.
Tuesday: I had a test on Wednesday...but just kinda glanced at it. I was so exhausted. Finally got money to eat!!!
Wednesday: Test went bad. Clinic went wonderful. My roommate was in such a pissy mood that I kind of just avoided her for the majority of the day.
Thursday: I worked with said roommate. Much better day, except for everyone else at work was annoying her now. Haha! I also received the 5th season of How I Met Your Mother...so I wasn't very social.
Friday: Oh that's today!

So for some reason I thought I had to be at work at 7 this morning...but I was wrong. There are two kinds of wrong. Good wrong and bad wrong. Good wrong would be I thought I had to work at 7 but in actuality I didn't have to work until later. The bad wrong is when you thought you had to work at 7 and actually had to work earlier. Which do you think I did? If you guessed the bad wrong...you were right! Fortunately the manager of my section didn't care so much that I was late. PHEW! Demotion averted!

In other news...David Letterman is coming to my school tonight along with the co-founder of twitter and also xanga (I don't remember his name). Did you guys used to have a xanga? I did! Back in high school...early middle school, something like that. That was my first blog. I'm much better at managing this one than that one luckily for you! Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of David Letterman. I know a lot of people are. We even have a David Letterman building here! I mean, that's probably because he is an alumni, but regardless I don't know much of what he does. So the point is that those two are going to be talking about social media and my friend just got us tickets to go. I'm pretty excited. Then we're going to see the free Friday night movie, which just happens to be Toy Story 3! I've never seen it before, but I've heard really good things about it. Tell me your reviews if you've seen it, but no spoilers!!!

Alright...I'm off to watch more How I Met Your Mother. :)

Chocolate Chugging Champion

Oops! I didn't update this weekend like I said I would huh? Well let me catch you up!

So my friend Zach and I were talking about how much we love chocolate. He bet me he could eat more chocolate than me. I told him to bring it, and we planned a chocolate syrup eating contest! This was delayed for about a week because of certain circumstances, but because of that I was able to get Mickey in on it as well as my friend Abs. Now Abs' job was our official photographer. Pictures will come later, I don't have them on my camera unfortunately. Anyway...Zach bought us each a ONE POUND can of liquidy goodness. Me being my all too sensible self told him we should cut it in half just so there would be no upchucking happening. He agreed. So we measured out our chocolate, cheered our glasses and started chugging with lights flashing from the camera like the paparazzi. Nicole started choking, which made Zach laugh. My strategy was to block out everything else and just focus on the chocolate. Honestly, I hardly even tasted the chocolate because it went so fast. I guess it was worth it because I came out with the title of Chocolate Chugging Champion!!! Zach still won't address me by that title, but it's mine to keep. :)

After the Chocolate Chugging Competition we were supposed to have a game night. Half the people didn't show up. But we entertained ourselves with air hockey, rock band, a card game that changes rules constantly (I have no idea what it was called...I didn't like it, nervous (which is an extremely intense card game) and we finished the night off with Law Abiding Citizen. I still don't know how I feel about this movie. Sick, twisted, good points...but ew! I guess I don't really like it that much, do you? If so...WHY!? All the boys liked it...

Speaking of boys...can I tell you how AWKWARD this night was?? I don't normally rant about boys so give me a break once in a while. It was a really really fun time, don't get me wrong, but when emotions and boys are involved, things can get a little messy! So Nate was there...a guy I went on one date with. First and last. I mean this guy REALLY tanked on our date! To the point I felt really sorry for him, but there's no point in continuing that. Then Zach was there obviously...he used to have a crush on me. And then there's...this other guy. I don't like to use exact names of people I care about. Like what if they read this and don't want the world to know about their life story? So I'll call him Chico. Chico is Zach's roommate...gorgeous, athletic, funny, sarcastic, dorky, great laugh...you know the kind. But those 3 guys together...kind of awkward!

At one point, Nate flirted with me and teased me to get my attention. Well, he got it, but it was still uncomfortable. He tried to give me his jacket at the end of the night, but I refused. Call me a jerk, but I didn't want something in my apartment to remind me of him. He's a good friend, I don't want him to think there is anything else there! Which, if I'm not mistaken, that's usually what happens if this sort of thing continues. Bad, bad situation.

As for Zach, well I'm pretty sure he's over me. He payed lots of attention to Mickey, which cracks me up!!! I'm sorry, she hates my guts right now, but now he's texting her and calling her and finding excuses to come out to our apartment. Yeah, he's interested. I know it, she knows it...the only problem is...she is SO not interested back. Poor Zach. He just can't catch a break.

And then there was Chico... Mickey said at one point I had his full attention. He was laughing with me, and teasing me. It was so easy! She said she was slightly jealous I got all the attention from him (because she thinks all the guys she dates are unattractive, but we're not dating so that doesn't apply). Well, I didn't get all the attention, but that made me feel good regardless. I was wanting him to pay attention to me, and he did! We share the same sense of humor and get along really well! Not to mention I just think he's so freaking adorable! And yet...when I text him to see how he's doing he doesn't respond. :\

Okay I'm probably overreacting, but I've sent him texts at least 2 times with no response. Zach tells me Chico's phone sometimes doesn't receive text messages, so that's why I tried twice. They were like 5 days apart...still no answer.
~~~~~~~This blog post is interrupted because Roxanne forgot she had work. Okay...now back to your regularly Scheduled Blogging!~~~~~~
It sucks but I'm telling myself to get over it. Guess that's my answer! Right? Chico is no more than a friend to me when convenient to him. I have had several friends like that before. I guess the only thing I can do is enjoy his company when he's around and not worry about it when he's not! Easier said than done, but I'll try!
After that blog post that was kind of depressing lets look on the optimistic side, shall we? Today is awesome because U-Turn made all of us roommates Chicken Alfredo for dinner as a surprise when I got off work :) I know I complain about her a lot but I love this kid!!!
Super-Mega-Foxy-Awesome Weekend
" Everything that wants your attention doesn't deserve your time."
There is no purpose for that quote other than when I heard it I shouted "SO TRUE!"
Hi! Two monumental things have happened since we last met!
1. I got a job! My first day was this morning. And when I say morning, I mean, I had to be there at 6:30 A.M. Talk about rough! I decided I don't like anything about 5:30 in the morning. That's when I have to wake up. It's cold, it's dark, it's hauntingly quiet...the traffic was alright but that was it!
2. I had the WORST day ever! This basically included me screwing up everything, being late to everything, and really messing up my first session with my client. I am not normally like this. Just one of those days you know! I couldn't help it! Mickey also had a bad day so we just cuddled and cried together. That makes everything better when you have someone to share it with.
Oh...and one more thing...I have a secret!!! Okay it's not that secretive, but I AM having an especially fun night tonight that deserves it's own blog post. I just want to have it happen before I spill the beans on my super-mega-foxy-awesome weekend. To make up for my short and weird post I am leaving you with something my rommate just said and a music video from one of my favorite youtubers. It's called "Imagination" and is so sweet! All 20 somes can relate!
U-Turn: "Look at this! My spaghetti is tied together! It's a defect!"
Me: "You're a defect."
Talk about contrast....
Hello my dear readers! If you stuck with me through that last post...well you must be saints. :)
Today I spent the majority of my time freaking out about my life, and I blame it on Sociology. I'm in this class called Sociology and Social Problems. Sounds cheery right? Well our professor doesn't like textbooks because she thinks they are boring. I secretly rejoiced that I didn't have to buy another needless textbook that will undoubtedly go unread. Instead, she assigns us novels, all of which can be found at the library. Good start to a class, right? That's what I thought too until I picked up the book.
The book in question is called Strapped: Why America's 20-30 Somethings Can't Get Ahead. The title basically explains it all. I spent all of today reading about how the government put minimum wage in tact so that if you worked full time you were guaranteed to not be poor. And how in the good old days college cost 2/3 less than it does now AND the government put out more grants instead of loans. It's all about statistics. More than half of the jobs available are strictly minimum wage. It goes on and on about how basically life sucks for the 20-34 year old. Debt up to our eyeballs and probably never get the career we set out to get and will probably go bankrupt if we have a kid. IT'S DEPRESSING!
So naturally I started to worry a bit. I'm a college student in my senior year. Debt is inevitable! But I don't need to hear from this class, or the book for that matter. Who wants to be told two times a day that your dreams are probably not going to come true? Now I'd like to think myself balanced between a realist and a dreamer. I know these things happen, but you can't kill the dreamer inside of me completely with statistics and sad sob stories which is what I feel like society is trying to make happen.
Then I found this quote...
Worry bankrupts the spirit. ~Berri Clove
BAM!
It's true! We shouldn't let worry get the best of us. Yes, we need to take responsibility for the things in our lives, but you also can't spend all your time dwelling on it because you might miss the good things right in front of us! So I'm going to fill up the rest of this blog with things that made me HAPPY! You should try coming up with a list of 10 things that made you happy today. It'll be harder than you think!
1. My client didn't change her time to 9 AM! (There's a back story on that...and that's just too early anyway!)
2. I have an interview for a job tomorrow!
3. I'm happy people still stuck around after my crazy post yesterday haha :)
4. ANIMAL CRACKERS WERE ON SALE!!!!
5. My friend announced he had a BOGO milkshake coupon for Steak N Shake and he's going to get me one. Dark double chocolate or something like that!
6. My taco's were delicious!
7. I get to see one of my favorite bands/youtubers in RL this October!!
8. Big Brother is on tonight! :) Don't judge!
9. I got ready 10 minutes earlier today so I didn't miss the bus!
10. A friend dropped me off at Wally World so I wouldn't have to drive. How nice!
Phew...that WAS harder than I thought it was going to be. And those all happened today! See, I did have a pretty good day. Sometimes you just have to dig for the gold nuggets.
P.S. Wow...if you read that whole thing, thanks for being a trooper! Hope you didn't get depressed halfway through and stop reading it because it has a happy ending! What a contrast from yesterday's blog. I guess you never know what you're going to get here. That's what makes life interesting! :)
Labor Day Scramble!
Happy Labor Day Weekend!!!
For those of you who had to work today...I say BE THANKFUL! Because I am still job searching...no bites yet! I am so sick of job searching...can't they just hand everything I need to me on a silver platter? For those of you who had school...my deepest apologies!! I can't tell you how much that had to stink. Love you though?
So this weekend we went up to the lake house. Fun right? Well right when we got there, mother nature decided she was going to turn down the AC after being 90 in my apartment for a week. It was too cold to go out on the water. THANKS mother nature!
Nah-it was alright. I still got to hang out with my family...went on a 3 hour tool shopping trip when I thought we were going out to eat...saw my aunt completely hammered...and melted my flip flops at the fire pit.
The good really does outweigh the bad. I got my dad's old iPhone, I got to see my cat after a really long time, aaaaaand...didn't have school today! I had a blast even if this doesn't sound like it. I just really don't feel like blogging tonight. so I'm making this short and sweet. Here's a few pictures of this weekend.
Just kidding...I can't figure out how to do that at the moment. Too much brain power involved. Oh technology! Instead...watch this slightly embarrassing video I made earlier today!
P.S. I can't believe I'm going back to school tomorrow...how am I going to function?? I'm sorry for the scatterbrained post! Be back tomorrow with sensible talk!
This only happens in the movies
After a really, really long day, me and Mickey decide it's time to go for a late night swim to relax. So, in order to get to the pool, we have to walk by the workout room. I was surprised to see that it was dark in most of the room except for one. I was more surprised to see a couple very toned men working out by the inside window where we were walking. Mickey called them "gorgeous chocolate hunks." We kind of made eye contact, smiled and kept walking. Unlike normal single girls my age I don't have my hot guy radar out 24/7 (like Mickey), but I didn't need one to know that these were some of the finest men here. Like normal girls do, we agree on how hot we thought they were once we get out of earshot.
Once that is done, the two men actually follow us out to the pool. Non-conspicuous of course! They have their jump rope and tease each other about jumping in with their clothes on. And it looks like right before they decide to approach us...here comes my friend Zach. "HEY GUYS!" He was totally oblivious to what was happening. And poor Zach, he couldn't compete with these guys. Zach has always been sickly skinny and pale his whole life. He's not what I would consider 'attractive', but he's very funny which is why I invited him to the pool in the first place because both me and Mickey needed a laugh. We certainly got one at the ironic circumstances that happened at the pool. The contrast between Zach and the two guys was so humorous!
I mean REALLY! That stuff only happens in movies, right!? Where the dorky friend interrupts the girls chance with a guy or vice versa? In reality...it would have been nice to meet those cute guys, but I don't think that they wanted anything more than a booty call. There has got to be a similar hotness level among couples and they were way too hot for me anyway. So I guess I should be thanking my dorky friend, saving me from rejection. Should be anyway...but a part of me will always wonder what would have happened...
Thanks Zach...I guess...
